Who We Are
Forever Pawsitive K9 Academy’s vision is to promote and foster strong, healthy canine and human relationships, with an emphasis on positive reinforcement and least intrusive, minimally aversive methods. Forever Pawsitive K9 Academy provides physical, emotional and mental security for both owners and their dogs. As well as creating, fostering and growing a community spirit that focuses on kindness and fun for humans and their animal family members.
Training Methods
Forever Pawsitive K9 Academy uses the most up to date science based learning theories, positive reinforcement and LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive) methods.
Certified Trainer
Jessica began working in the field of dog training in 1996. In 2010 Jessica earned her Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT.

How We Started
When Jessica and her family re-located to the South Bruce Peninsula in 2016, opening a high quality training, daycare and boarding facility was part the vision and thus Forever Pawisitve K9 Academy was created. The Bruce Peninsula is home to adventure seekers and nature lovers; it attracts visitors who want to explore the beauty of the area and take in the Unesco Biosphere Reserve, the Bruce National Park and other wonders of the Peninsula. The vision that drives FPK9 Academy is to have training programs that can be easily absorbed and implemented so that local dog owners can have dogs that are welcome members of the community. Recognizing that both locals and tourists will at times want to adventure without their dogs, Jessica and her family are working to turn their 32-acre property into a dog paradise that will provide dogs with their own Bruce Peninsula experience.
At FPK9 Academy we believe that small acts of kindness can do great good and create ripple effects into the larger world. We offer free classes to local Foster families that are currently housing rescue dogs and helping them in their journey to find their forever homes. We frequently host events that help raise donations and supplies for the local Salvation Army Food Bank. As a licensed presenter of the dog bite prevention program ”Be A Tree”, we offer free presentations to schools, libraries and children’s organizations throughout the Bruce Peninsula. We also contribute a monthly dog-training column to the Wiarton Echo to promote dog wellness and positive reinforcement training philosophies. FPK9 also supports local community initiatives through sponsorship and volunteerism.
